THE JIGAWON
JIGAWON I & II
Jigawon is an eco-friendly large diameter sewer cleaning system created by Rusty Nezat, an industry leader with over 40 years of experience. The Jigawon is very versatile, as it can be used to clean pipe sizes from 10 inch to over 12 feet! Jigawon differs from other sewer cleaning systems because it does not require by-pass pumping to clean pipe. Jigawon also has the capability of cleaning over 5,000 feet between access points! For these reasons, Jigawon is suited well for siphon cleaning, and line cleaning where access is very limited… like on a golf course for example.
Jigawon Inc. provides sewer cleaning services using our patented Jigawon process. The cost of employing a Jigawon System is determined after a thorough job inspection of the potential project has been completed. Factors that determine the charges are access, distances between access points, pipe diameter, flows and the amount of debris to be removed. Please contact us for more information about the Jigawon System.
Rusty Nezat, a 2nd-generation sewer cleaner, now lovingly known as the "Guru of Poopoo" is the creator of the Jigawon Large Bore Sewer & Siphon Cleaning System and President of Nezat Training and Consulting, Inc. since 1999. Nezat Training and Consulting, Inc. trains contractors and municipalities involved in the maintenance of wastewater collection systems. Since its inception, Nezat Training and Consulting, Inc. has trained over 1,000 sewer cleaning equipment operators throughout the nation resulting in increased productivity and the reduction of equipment down time for these organizations.

Called a "Jigawon", this patented device restricts the existing flow inside the sewer and creates turbulence within the pipe, causing the material to be put into suspension and moved downstream. Debris is removed from a selected downstream manhole. The fluid and solid waste is moved into watertight containers. The fluid waste is then removed from the container and deposited back into the downstream sewer line. The solid waste is captured and dumped at a site suitable for sewer grit and debris.
It is advised that the retention containers employed be covered and airtight in order to keep the aroma of the debris to a minimum. At the upstream end, the Jigawon (attached to the winch cable) is positioned and secured above the manhole. The Jigawon is inserted into the line and allowed to "inflate," thus creating the turbulence and head pressure required to move the debris downstream.
The winch is a powered device with any chosen length of steel cable installed. With 5,000 linear feet of 3/8" cable on the reel, the weight of the apparatus will be approximately 6,000 pounds. The Jigawon is fed downstream at a rate and pace determined by the amount of debris encountered. At the downstream end, a weir is installed and the extraction device placed at the manhole. The containers should be stationed as close to the downstream manhole as possible however, it is not uncommon to locate the containers up to 100 feet away should site circumstances dictate.
Rusty Nezat currently holds 4 US patents for sewer cleaning devices and extraction systems;
US Patent No: US 6,508,261 B1 | Jan. 21, 2003
US Patent No: US 6,764,604 B1 | Jul. 20, 2004
US Patent No: US 7,267,133 B1 | Sep. 11, 2007
US Patent No: US 7,306,000 B1 | Dec. 11, 2007
There are two different types of Jigawon: Type I & Type II. Jigawon I is made of a flexible material and is used for cleaning pipe diameters of 10 - 60 inches.
The Jigawon II is a rigid device made of metal and plastic, and it is used for cleaning pipe diameters of 60 inches and larger. And when we say large… we're talking up to 12 ft. in diameter! The Jigawon II does not adjust in size or shape, so it is built to the specifications required per project.
• Jigawon is able to clean long distances without
access to intermediate MH such as:
• Golf Courses & Athletic Fields
• Swamps & Forested Areas
• Environmentally sensitive areas
• Siphons
• Where roads cannot be built or exist near MH
• National Parks
• Sewer lines under lakes, streams & rivers
• Green system – uses existing sewer flow to clean with.
• Usually do not need to add potable water.
• No bypass pumping required.
• Non-destructive, low-pressure 15 psi.
• No smell, no odor.
• Decibel levels low. Very quiet operation.
• Equipment is compact and leaves little environmental
footprint.
• Typically no access roads required, such as laying down
gravel.
